What Are The Grants For?
The grants are to support the work of local organisations and groups who operate for the benefit of Houghton Regis residents.
The Grants are available for development costs or for setting up a new group, new activities or new projects and maybe available for general running costs at the discretion of the Council.
Who Can Apply?
Any local voluntary organisation or community group with a written constitution and bank account.
However if you are a newly formed group you can still apply providing you can show what steps you are taking to become a fully constituted organisation.
How Much Money Can My Group Apply For?
There is no set limit on how much you can apply for, however Small Project Grants are up to a maximum of £500 and Large Project Grants are normally between £501 and £1,000. A maximum of 75% of the cost of the project can be applied for.
What Information Will I Need To Provide?
You will need to provide:
- Information about your organisation;
- Information about your work / project including proposed costs;
- A copy of your organisation constitution;
- A copy of your organisations financial accounts.
After receiving your grant you will need to provide:
- Evidence that your grant has been used for the purpose intended.
- A written report / feedback on the project.
How And When Do I Apply?
Please contact the Town Council and request a grant application pack or download an application form from thiswebsite.
Once your completed grant application form has been received by the Town Council along with the required information your request will be considered at the next Grants Sub Committee meeting. Details of dates are included under the events section of this website.
When Will I Know If My Application Is Successful?
Your organisation will be notified and sent the cheque within 3 weeks of the Committee meeting. However if required you may contact the office directly after the committee meeting for a verbal confirmation.
