The Houghton Regis of 2011 is an area full of industry, trade, commerce, and just over  7,000 homes.

The town has seen many changes from a small parish, through to a town, which contains three recreation grounds, five public houses, a shopping centre, three major supermarkets, two post offices, a bank, two petrol stations and six lower schools.

There are many industrial areas on the west side of Houghton Regis which continue to be a local source of employment and with the demand for housing steadily growing this is a positive sign for the future.

The population of Houghton Regis has continued to grow over the last decade and it is believed that over 18,000 people now live on the various estates old and new, which lie within the town boundaries.
